Baptist  Church

Born in New Orleans, LA.  Pastor Daniels is the youngest of six children born to Irma T. and Henry Daniels (both deceased).  Upon graduation from Warren East High School, he started his military career with the United States Army which he retired from in 2013 after 24 years of service as a Logistician.

Pastor Daniels was licensed in May 1994 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN under the leadership of Dr. Donald Snead.

Pastor Daniels served 8 years as Pastor of the New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Bamberg, Germany.  While there he also served as Vice Moderator for the National Baptist Association of Germany, under the leadership of Rev. Joseph L. Freeman Jr.

For the past 25 years Pastor Daniels has been married to the former Theresa Smith of Chicago, IL.  Through their union two children, Kevin Jr. and Raven Nicole were born. Although they did not give birth to Latoya Patterson-Smith she is the daughter that God sent, along with her husband, Ryan and their two sons William James and Ethan Ryan.

Upon uniting with New Jerusalem, he experienced something that as a Christian we all need and desire, his relationship with God was nurtured by the word of God and Pastor James H. McMearn.  The things they have shared demonstrated true, sincere, God-lead ministry and he will forever be grateful to God for Pastor McMearn.  After prayerful and clear direction from the Lord he accepted the vision and charge to Pastor the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Fountain, Colorado on November 18, 2012 and has served proudly going on 2 years.

Pastor Emeritus McMearn entered into the ministry  in March 1967 and was ordained on July 21, 1968 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Pueblo, Colorado.

Through divine inspiration from the Lord, Reverend McMearn was led to organize a Prayer Band and Bible Study Group which after some time led to the founding of The New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor McMearn, better known as Pastor Mac, faithfully served the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church  and the Colorado Springs/Fountain/Widefield Communities for 40 years.  His leadership has birthed and developed over some 30 son's and daughters in Ministry.

In October 2012, Pastor McMearn listened to the direction from the Lord and officially retired as Senior Pastor of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.   Although he is no longer pastoring, he still follows the direction of the Holy Spirit and has focused his ministry on continuing to provide support and love and Ministry of presence to the Elderly.  He also is very supportive of the leadership of his Pastor, Reverend Kevin T. Daniels Sr. as well as maintaining a relationship and mentorship with the community Pastors and Leaders.

Pastor Emeritus James McMearn has transitioned to be with the Lord on May 31, 2016. A Servant worthy of his calling.

Reverend McMearn married the former Mary Ann Jarnigan and celebrate 48 years.   They are the proud parents of Elizabeth and James and  have two grandchildren Elijah David James and Delana Eliza Rose Jefferson.
